About Me

Howdy! I’m Nicole — a lifelong horse girl and Northern California born and raised equestrian photographer with a deep understanding of the horse industry and the athletes within it.

I’ve been riding since I was six years old and grew up a true barn rat, fully immersed in barn life, horse shows, and the rhythm of the equestrian world. Horses shaped my life long before photography entered the picture, and that foundation is what sets my work apart. I don’t just photograph horses — I understand them: their movement, their expressions, their good sides, their moments of brilliance, and the split seconds that matter most in the ring.

It all started in 2015, when I picked up my dad’s Canon Rebel T3i and began photographing friends at the barn. Before long, my parents were driving me to local horse shows throughout Northern California, camera in hand. I vividly remember photographing my first two Grand Prixes — one at the Menlo Charity Horse Show and another at the Sacramento International Horse Show World Cup in Rancho Murieta. After sorting through and editing thousands of photos for fun, I knew these moments were what solidified my passion for equestrian photography and telling the story of the sport.

Throughout college, I spent weekends working alongside official show photographers, learning not just how to capture action, but how to anticipate it. With nearly a lifetime of riding and competition experience under my belt, I developed an instinctive understanding of stride, timing, balance, and form, allowing me to consistently capture horses at their strongest and most expressive.

Nearly a decade later, I bring that same horse-first mindset to every session. Whether I’m photographing show jumping, western performance, fine art equine portraits, or branding imagery, my goal is always the same: to create images that feel honest, intentional, and true to the horse and rider in front of my lens.

When you book with me, you’re not just hiring a photographer — you’re working with someone who knows the horse industry inside and out and understands how to translate that knowledge into meaningful, high-quality imagery. From impactful competition moments to quiet barn scenes and refined portraits, I’m here to tell your horse’s story with care and authenticity.

If you’re ready to create imagery that reflects your horse, your goals, and your life in the horse world, I’d love to work with you. Reach out to start planning a session that feels true to you and your horse.
